Mary & Dylan’s wedding was perfectly Florida boho chic! You might remember these two from their Modern Rooftop Engagement session. Or you might recall a bit of their story…Mary & Dylan’s moms of were really good friends and would spend time taking breaks at work to pray for their children, specifically their child’s future spouse, not realizing that in the future their kids would meet, fall in love, and get married.
The couple worked with Emily at Event Bliss to design a wedding that held Florida elements, bright blood oranges and grapefruits, paired with a warm colors that were inspired by Florida sunsets. It was a nod to the fact that they both grew up in Fort Lauderdale. The romantic boho feel, mixed with the warm Florida tones really complimented the charm of the New River Inn so beautifully.
The wedding ceremony took place outside underneath Queen Palm Trees. The Event Bliss team created a stunning floral arch filled garden roses, peonies, rust amaranths, ranunculus and all the greens, where the couple exchanged vows. I loved watching the parents’ expressions during the ceremony. Our team’s intention is to capture the responses from the crowd during important moments at a wedding ceremony. During this wedding, I enjoyed watching and photographing Dylan’s dad record his daughter singing a worship song before the end of the ceremony. He was already emotional watching his son get married, so I believe his other child singing put him over the edge. As he was getting emotional recording his daughter, his grandchild was sitting next to him, picking his nose. Real moments over curated ones, always.
One thing I love about wedding celebrations is couples have the choice to incorporate unique, personal details that are meaningful to them and have nothing to do with that is trending in the wedding world. My favorite detail from this wedding was the wedding band Dylan now wears. It belonged to Mary’s grandmother and was engraved with both her grandparents initials. Now it holds Mary and Dylans initials right next to her grandparents. It’s so beautiful that this ring is being worn for two generations of marriages. During the cocktail hour, I captured her grandmother holding the rings with the new initials, signifying the story of these rings being passing down to another generation and the beginning of this marriage story. This is legacy right here.
Mary & Dylan, it was a JOY to be present on this day. Thank you for inviting our team to capture such an intimate moment in your lives! We love you both so much!
