HI, FRIEND!

Shannon & Christian | Jekyll Island Wedding Photographer

Jan 30, 2019

This Crane Cottage wedding at Jekyll Island Club Resort was one of my favorite weddings from last year! Our whole team has been itching to share the yumminess of this day with you. I’m not sure there has ever been so much anticipation leading up to a wedding day reveal!

From the first time I chatted with Shannon, I was immediately drawn to her and Christian. They are so intentional, thoughtful and fun. As I listened to her tell me about their plans for their wedding I could tell they had given so much thought to every detail. Shannon knew that she wanted every decor element to be very neutral as to allow the many naturally beautiful elements of the cottage to be highlighted. Not only because they cared about details and way things look, but rather they wanted to create a setting where all of their friends and family could feel well loved and comfortable as they celebrated and dance the night away with them!

These two tied the knot with a grand ole southern affair. The moment they visited the Crane Cottage on Jekyll Island, they knew that this breathtaking location would be the perfect location to promise each other forever. Every moment of this love story was sweet. Grey clouds threatened to ruin this day but this bride and groom were intent on allowing nothing to steal the joy of their day. My favorite detail, besides that stunner of a DRESS, was the checkered black and white dance floor in front of the cottage. Speaking of Shannon’s dress, tears flowed from every bridesmaid’s eyes when she came down in her wedding dress. I even saw a few tears fall when Shannon had a first look with her Daddy. So precious.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day for me to witness was Christian’s parents watching the couple’s first look from the window behind them! It was so cute to watch them smile as their son met his bride at the steps! Right before the first look, I asked Christian if he wanted their first look to be private and he insisted that his parents be able to stay and watch. I loved that! I even got to see one of my past couples who were guests at this wedding! It was so special for me to spend some time with them as we celebrated their friends. The fact that friendships with my couples continue after a wedding day is really special to me.

Shannon & Christian, let’s do this day all over again? Seriously. Pleeeease. Let’s do it again!
