HI, FRIEND!

Happy Thanksgiving from the MP Team!!

Nov 21, 2018

How beautiful that there is a holiday completely dedicated to posturing our heart towards thankfulness!

May we be people that always look for the good, even in the hard-pressed seasons, because that produces steadfastness and growth. May we be people whose fire stirs others to spread an attitude of being thankful. May we be people who carry out gratefulness year round. I believe that everything good comes from the Lord, but even the moments in the valley have proven His faithfulness in the end. So, I’m thankful for Him. and I’m thankful for all of you who have graciously supported our team. We hope that your Thanksgiving is filled with the sweetest of memories and love as you step away from work and focus on what matters most.

  • CORN CASSEROLE! My grandmother used to make the BEST one. – Ingrid
  • My favorite Thanksgiving food is pumpkin pie! – Wayne
  • My favorite Thanksgiving foods are pumpkin pie and homemade stuffing with cranberries, sausage and
    sweet potatoes. – Kim
  • Hands down – Sweet Potato Casserole! – Tori
  • Funny enough, I could actually could do without all the foods that are served over Thanksgiving dinner. I love homemade apple pie though! YUM! – Ashley

  • Our family doesn’t have actual Thanksgiving traditions outside of quality time, but I’m inspired by my neighbor’s tradition of bringing out a specific tablecloth that guests sign every year with what they’re grateful for. It’s like a record-keeping for the purpose of reminding us of the goodness through the years. Thinking of starting that tradition this year! – Ingrid
  • Seeing my family and Ingrid’s family in West Palm Beach. My family tradition since I was a kid is watching football, so I’m looking forward to some quality time with my dad over the game. – Wayne
  • My husband and I are from opposite parts of the country so, since getting married, we have traveled for 8 of our 10 Thanksgivings together. It has become our tradition to travel to be with family! My favorite tradition as a kid was going to my aunt and uncle’s and performing a Christmas show for all of the adults with my cousins. – Kim
  • While preparing the food for dinner, my family blasts Christmas music (there is always dancing and a little bit of
    karaoke). – Tori
  • For years my family has had this mason jar that we call the “Thank you Jesus” jar. Throughout the year, it sits up on the window at the kitchen sink. Beginning the day after Thanksgiving, until Thanksgiving morning, we write things that we are grateful for as they happen. Bright and early on Thanksgiving morning, (before the craziness of cooking begins and extended family members arrive) we sit together as a family and unfold those pieces of paper. As we read through them, we reminisce on the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord throughout the year. This is always one of my favorite moments of the today. Big or small, we get to recall (because, lets be real…we forget) all the ways that the Lord came through that year like only he could. – Ashley

  • Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Even when we don’t choose Him, want Him or know Him, He still chooses us. How great the Father’s love. – Ingrid
  • Romans 5:8 “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” I am never more grateful than when I remember what was done on the cross. – Wayne
  • Phil 4:4-7: I love that the call is to rejoice and not be anxious. Instead, we are instructed to pray with thanksgiving and the Lord’s peace will guard us. I lam grateful that God is in the details of our lives and reminds us that He is near. – Kim
  • James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift comes from above.” Every moment and every friendship is a reflection of the Lord’s provision and abundant blessings in my life. – Tori
  • Ephesians 5:2, is a verse that always fills my heart with gratitude. It is a beautiful reminder that Christ is not cautious but extravagant with his love for us. He didn’t love in order to get something but to give ALL of himself to us. What love! – Ashley

  • Uhh… eating is my favorite activity. My second favorite activity is grabbing seconds (just being real). – Ingrid
  • Catan with the fam! …. while eating pumpkin pie. – Wayne
  • My favorite tradition is setting up the Christmas tree while making homemade chocolate chip cookies and watching a Christmas movie, or listening to Christmas music.  – Kim
  • Family sleepovers and all the snuggles. – Tori
  • What holiday activity don’t I love?! Seriously, I love love every single activity. Especially ones that involve cooking, eating, reflecting on every blessing, watching Christmas movies and being with my people. – Ashley
