There’s something so special about photographing a couple’s first child in their first home, especially when there’s a furry big sibling ready to steal the spotlight too. This cozy at-home newborn session in Gainesville was full of tender moments, natural light, and a few playful cameos from the family dog who couldn’t help but get in on the snuggles. I loved watching their pup literally jump to get in the shot. I always encourage families to include their pets. They’re such an important part of your story. And, let’s be honest, their energy can add a beautiful, unscripted charm to your photos.

Baby Eloise was just a few weeks old when we had this sweet Gainesville family session. The morning light streamed softly through the window, wrapping everything in a calm, golden glow. We kept the session relaxed and baby-led, with gentle swaddles and plenty of time for feeding and comforting breaks.

One of my favorite things about this newborn session is that the mother in these images is a dear friend. I’ve known Erica since before she was married and this session was an honor for me to photograph.
