Shooting Ashley + Travis’ wedding day felt like I was participating in one of my own family members’ weddings.  Ashley’s family is Ecuadorian like mine… instant connection right there! Some of her family members are even from the same EXACT SAME city as my family (small world huh)! 

When I arrived the morning of their wedding, I was greeted with kisses on both my cheeks and a house full of cousins and Tias! Conversations were happening in Spanish and little ones were running around. Male cousins were trolling their female cousins and then 5 mins later they would pick up and care for the younger ones. Tios would grab the hands of their nieces and dance salsa with them to the music in the background. Nieces, around my age, would sit on their tia’s laps and snuggle as they observed what was happening around them. This was such a picture of my own family, I instantly felt right at home. Family was everywhere… and it was everything about this sweet day! 

Here are some of my favorite moments from the day:
– The bride wore her late grandmothers watch down the aisle and her aunt’s earrings.
– As I spoke with wedding guests and family members, everyone described Travis as “the nicest person and the smartest person you’ll ever meet.” It was so sweet to listen to everyone speak so highly of him.
– The dance floor was packed with everyone dancing to both Spanish and English songs.
– They had an hora loca at the end of the night to get a second wind. They handed out masks, whistles, and light-up sticks.
