Elegant Carolina Inn Wedding | Chapel Hill Wedding Photographer

Brooke & Sean got married on a beautiful fall day in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. They had a romantic Carolina Inn wedding with Salley Oakley Events. It was the perfect time of year because the summer heat was starting to subside and the leaves were just starting to think about changing. For our family, it was a weekend of celebrations, because we planned a family trip, went hiking, explored local restaurants, had a cookout with my in-laws, and even visited some friends all around this wedding. It was the best time, full of so many special memories, including this wedding.

The Carolina Inn is an iconic venue located in Chapel Hill, nestled right across UNC’s campus. This inn has plenty of gems for portrait locations, but the front-runner spot is their signature hallway with the black and white checkered flooring. It was the perfect spot to bring the couple after the ceremony because it was not only beautiful, it was quiet and away from guests. Win-win!

Brooke and Sean had a plethora of special moments on their wedding day, but one, in particular, stood out to me. A lot of brides do a reveal with their fathers the morning of the wedding. Brooke got to have two! She has a unique relationship with her dad and her biological father and she chose to honor both on her wedding day. It was so beautiful to watch both men’s emotions unfold as they each had a private moment with Brooke.

I would describe their celebration as timeless and elegant, but really, really fun… just like the couple. They are both refined in style but certainly know how to have a good time! Sean wore a classic black tux and bowtie which paired nicely with Brooke’s sophisticated, square-neckline Lis Simon gown. They didn’t have a send-off, but they did spark excitement towards the end of the party with confetti on the dance floor. I appreciated that they did something unique and that it added a second wind to the party celebrating the couple’s union.
