The last time I was out in San Francisco I had the pleasure of shooting at the iconic San Francisco City Hall. It is the quintessential place for an elopement. I’ve seen pictures before, but the former architecture student in me had an inner fangirl moment walking inside. Between the breathtaking rotunda and intricate renaissance details, there was plenty of beautiful inspiration for our shoot.

This elopement was designed entirely by Emily from The Ganeys and Amy from Gather Design Company. I am so grateful to have been invited to tag along. You might recognize the models, they were one of our very own couples! They actually live in San Francisco, but eloped in Gainesville! The previous time I came to SF for work, Vanessa + Travis graced me with their presence and skill in front of the camera at this Muir Beach engagement shoot.

Amy chose a stunningly modern Rime Arodaky bridal jumper that looked phenomenal on Vanessa. If I wasn’t pregnant, I promise you I would have (carefully) worn it around Emily’s apartment before the shoot. My favorite detail of the jumper was the lace train that trailed behind the pants. There were many, many moments during the shoot that Emily and I watched Vanessa with our jaws dropped… literally. I loved how the modern jumper and bouquet juxtaposed the classical Renaissance style of the interiors of City Hall. Mas-ter-piece!

The shoot ended at the Marin Highlands as we took some windy and romantic landscape portraits. This Floridian couldn’t hang much with that wind and cold weather, so we got our shots and headed out to dinner to celebrate the completion of a great shoot.  Emily, I’m so, so thankful for the opportunity to shoot alongside you, as always.
