HI, FRIEND!

Yerim & Kong | Orlando Engagement Photographer

May 22, 2019

Kong planned a 4-day trip to New York to propose to Yerim. He got a few of their friends together and told Yerim that he wanted a reunion vacation with their college friends. Yerim didn’t suspect a thing, even though their 3rd anniversary was going to fall during this “vacation.” Kong told us “whoever invented modern-day wedding proposals probably never did one themselves.” He said that it was quite possibly the most stressful weekend of his life.

He said it was incredibly hard to focus during the trip. He had to pretend to have fun while he was preparing to propose. As they walked around exploring NYC, Kong practiced pulling out the ring out of inner jacket pocket (He said that its harder than it seems), rehearsing his lines over and making sure everyone knew exactly when he would be proposing.

Well, the day to propose finally came. Kong said that everything felt like a huge blur. He said he remembered all their friends taking too long get to the place he was planning to propose. That externally, he put on a calm demeanor and a smile. But internally, he was freaking out. Eventually, they got to where we needed to be and as an added bonus, the weather was perfect. All the pressure of proposing and he forgot everything he rehearsed saying! (aww)  He pulled out the ring, got on one knee (very smoothly because of all that practicing), and he asked Yerim to be his forever. Yerim was so shocked, she didn’t say yes for a long time. (which caused Kong to sweat a little bit.) She eventually said yes!

Kong said that all the planning, blood, sweat, and tears that lead up that moment, it was well worth it for him to see how happy she was. “She deserves the very best! But I will honestly confess, I’m glad I will never have to propose to anyone ever again!”

Well done Kong!
