“Florida girl meets and falls in love with California boy and his English bulldog.” – Annelys
These two cutie pies met online. Annelys told us that she was immediately drawn to his profile because he had a picture of Milo (his English bulldog) as his profile picture. She was really missing her dog back in Florida and she thought he was really cute (Milo’s human of course)! She told us that, unfortunately, Dan was late to their first date and she was super annoyed by that. Dan’s defense to him being late was, “I couldn’t believe that she was waiting to have dinner with me!” Super sweet! Annelys told us that she quickly forgave him.
Dan proposed while they were vacationing in Maui and celebrating Annelys’ 30th birthday. He booked a spectacular room overlooking the beach at a really fancy resort. The day of the proposal, he scheduled a mani/pedi for Annelys as a birthday treat, even though she was being stubborn by telling him that she didn’t want to get one. He insisted. She had no idea that her hands were getting pampered for a sparkly diamond she’d receive that same day! Later that evening, while they were getting ready for dinner, Dan called Annelys out to the balcony and said he wanted to talk to her. The sun was setting at this point and the sunsets in Hawaii are some of the best in the world. He got down on one knee and asked Annelys to be his wife. She immediately started crying. She eventually said yes to his question (at least she thinks she did)!
Their wedding took place in San Francisco, California, the place where they met and fell in love. The wedding decor was designed with modern elements of the things and details they love about their city. It was also important to they that they incorporated Jewish and Cuban traditions to their day, to represent their heritage. Their wedding cuisine was a special (and yummy) California-Cuban mix. They said their vows under a huppah, drank from the cup of life and broke glass together at the end of the ceremony – all traditional Jewish traditions. My FAVORITE part of the day was when Dan said his vows to Annelys… in Spanish!! C’mon! High five to you! During their reception, they danced the hora, salsa and merengue. I love when couples are from two different cultures and they celebrate their unique heritage as they join their two families together. These two celebrated culture so well. I loved it!
Finally, a very special shout out to sweet Milo! Because of you, these two have a lifetime of love and happiness ahead of them!
