Carla & James are one of my couples who were forced to adjust their original wedding plans because of COVID. They instead opted for an intimate elopement, just the two of them – with hopes of a bigger celebration in the future. There were no witnesses on this day except for me. They didn’t choose a witness from either side because they wanted to be fair for both their families. I even got to sign their marriage license, that was a first for me!

Their intimate exchange of vows took place on the lawn in front of the Alachua County Courthouse. The bride was dressed in a satin BHLDN dress that had an effortless chic look to it. She wore her hair down in loose curls and her cathedral veil, which had an elegant and ethereal feel, was tucked into her curls. She carried a classic and tropical bouquet filled with native coontie palm, monstera leaves, jasmine vines, ranunculus, anthurium, and some locally grown Thai tulips. James looked very handsome in his blue suit and floral patterned tie.

Their day was truly all about the vows they exchanged and the love they share. It was a contrast between a love that is unconditional even in the midst of changing seasons. It was truly exquisite and sacred. After their elopement, they privately celebrated with lunch together at Waffle House (this has been a tradition of theirs). Wedding attire and all!

Carla & James, thank you again for having me. Being part of this most intimate moment was something I will truly never forget. I wish you a lifetime of pure bliss!
