Since COVID, engaged couples all over the world have had to pivot their wedding plans. Restricting your guest counts, taking safety precautions, and even postponing. We feel for you. Kristen and Matt’s wedding day was proof that even with all the changes this year has brought, you can still have a meaningful and beautiful celebration.
Their wedding took place at Treasury on the Plaza! Located in the heart of St. Augustine’s historic district, this venue used to be the main bank in the area. It has since been renovated as one of Florida’s most unique wedding venues. The bar is located in what used to be the bank’s vault!
One thing that stuck out to me about Matt and Kristen was how everything around them didn’t seem to matter when they were around each other. There were moments where I would go in to direct them during portraits and really I didn’t have to, I could just let them BE. It helped that they met up before the ceremony to privately have a first look because that allowed them to have time in the day to enjoy quality time together more. What a sweet thing to witness them slow down and be still together during their wedding day.
My favorite (and most emotional) part of the day was during the reception when Kristen’s maid of honor (who wasn’t able to attend) had a surprise, pre-recorded toast for her playing on the big screen in the ballroom. She had put on her bridesmaid dress, had a champagne glass, and shared a slideshow of memories the two of them has shared from childhood.
Kristen and Matt, you’re so loved by your people and it was so beautiful and overwhelming to witness. Congratulations friends!

“Falling for Matt was my heart coming home, finding a place where my heart felt, ‘Oh yes, this is perfect for me. I feel safe and happy and I think I should like to stay here forever.’ I tend to always be the responsible one, the “mom” of the group. I was amazed to find that I could actually imagine letting him take care of me. He’s the only person aside from my parents that my heart has ever felt safe enough with to truly let my guard down completely.”
