Katherine & Nick’s love story began while they were studying abroad in Barcelona. While it sort of began as a fairy tale (set in the most beautiful location), it grew from that experience into something very real and grounded in mutual respect, admiration, and deep love for each other. They both are Architects, so they have a great appreciation for intentional details, and simplicity. Which is one of the reasons they chose the Hillsboro Club as the space they would promise forever to one another. The club is nestled right on this gorgeous beach right at the Hillsboro inlet next to a Lighthouse. It’s a pretty special spot in South Florida. Katherine is originally from South Florida and she remembers her mom painting the lighthouse a number of times while she was growing up. She told us that as she and Nick were touring the venue, the space reminded her of her mom and home. She was totally sold on the space!

While they were designing their wedding day, they wanted to be true to the natural surroundings of the space. Since the venue was at a beach club that had a seaside vibe, they knew their design should compliment what was already established there. Their reception space was designed with bright whites, light seaside blues, tropical greenery and teak wood throughout. My favorite detail, outside of the bouquets, were the chic white bridesmaid dresses. They paired so well with Katherine’s classic wedding gown. It fit her perfectly and showed off her figure. The back detail and the slight ruffle at the bottom was just a bit flirty and fun which perfectly suited Katherine. Her bracelet and earrings were statement pieces nodding to the tropical touches throughout their day.

The evening reception was complete with classic rock hits, hilarious toasts, delicious key lime pie, and lots of dancing! Such a sweet day celebrating these two!
