David and Emily.
These two and their entire families have been doing life together, since they were babies crawling around. This darling duo, grew up together [literally] in a small town. Their families celebrated holidays together, they played pretend, went on vacations together, the works. David, with his tenderness and playfulness, won the heart of his graceful sweetheart 20 years later.
Timothy Keller says that love is a complete experience when “… over the years someone has seen you at your worst, and knows you with all your strengths and flaws, yet commits him- or herself to you wholly… to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. This is what we need more than anything else. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” This is team David + Emily. While knowing there are flawed pieces, they believe and see the best as they celebrate and magnify their strengths. They pick up the weight from each other’s shoulders just to keep any thought of worry taking real estate in their thoughts. They fight to protect and care for each other. and they treat each other with the most gentle grace. Watching these two walk through the preparations for marriage was like watching the fabric of marriage unfold.
