I will try my best to put into words what these two did to my heart. Excuse the long post!
When I shot Laura and Chris’ engagement session, I had some of the most fun I have ever had on a session. The session was amazing (check them out here: http://ahf.215.myftpupload.com/chris-laura-jupiter-engagement-photographer/). I remember the sun had already gone down, but we stayed chatting in the dark parking lot for a while. I mentioned during my post from their engagement… there’s something about them that just makes you want to be around them. Then, they flew us out to Austin, Texas to shoot their wedding day. They flew us. Absolutely honored. The morning of the wedding, I ran into Laura on the street and she invited me to get coffee with her. On her wedding day! Nuts. Our entire experience of shooting their engagement, becoming friends and shooting their wedding has been unimaginably incredible.
They took care of us as if we were one of their dearest guests, making sure we had everything we needed. Several times during their engagement and their wedding day, Laura and Chris kept thanking us for traveling to Texas for them. Wayne and I feel so blessed to be our client’s story-tellers. But, to fly us out to them? And for Chris and Laura! Goodness, I just couldn’t believe how lucky we were. Blessed. We don’t want anyone to feel like they have to do anything for us, since we shoot weddings to serve our clients. But, when there are gems like Chris and Laura, my heart is slayed. On top of their incredibly huge hearts, they are just cool. Seriously, such a cool couple. Their recessional song was “Sweet Disposition,” which is the song on our website. When it came on while they walked down the aisle, I looked over to Wayne and sighed… then quickly went back to shooting! Instead of cake, this couple had an ice cream sandwich truck. For real. Laura is an interior designer, so OF COURSE she had Coolhaus bring in their architecturally inspired gourmet ice cream sandwiches! Oh yeah, another awesome point… the fact that they got married in one of the coolest cities in America… AUSTIN, TEXAS! Let’s not forget that.
Chris, I love the way you make Laura smile. She really melts with you. It was so special to watch your First Look unfold with her. Laura, it was a delight to be overwhelmed with your kindness towards everyone, including us. I will continue to thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day the way we were. You’ve strengthened my passion behind what I do. Praising God for having been blessed with you both. This day was perfect and the fact that we got to spend the day next to you guys all day was priceless. Thank you, thank you, thank YOU. Enjoy your wedding story:
